An absent AEW star has shared an update on social media amidst her lengthy hiatus from television. The talent in question is Rebel.

Rebel has been in the wrestling industry since 2014. She has competed in several promotions, including TNA, Ohio Valley Wrestling, and NWA. She also wrestled former AEW Women's World Champion Toni Storm seven years ago in Stardom and worked a tag team match featuring IYO SKY and Kairi Sane on WWE NXT in 2019.

Rebel began to appear on AEW programming from 2020 onward as the makeup artist and personal assistant of Britt Baker. She worked closely with The DMD and the latter's ally, Jamie Hayter, whom Baker joined forces with in 2021. Rebel had been missing from in-ring action for nearly two years, having last wrestled in the Jacksonville-based company in a dark match against Vicky Dreamboat on AEW: Dark in August 2022.

However, in February this year, the 46-year-old star stepped back into the squared circle at GLCW Beauties And The Beasts IV, teaming with AEW's Harley Cameron to defeat Gema and Sophia Rose.

According to recent reports, despite her long-running absence from All Elite Wrestling television, Rebel is still signed to the Tony Khan-led promotion. She recently provided a personal update on X/Twitter, revealing that she was headed to take care of a "minor issue."

"On my way to mending one of my minor issues. Post more soon," wrote Rebel.

AEW's Rebel was hospitalized earlier this year

In an Instagram post from earlier this month, Rebel informed her fans and followers that she had been hospitalized in May due to a case of pneumonia.

She further disclosed that some less crucial matters had been revealed through multiple CT scans that she also had to tend to, albeit confessing to feeling better with time.

"I’ve kept this private until now bc I believe I’m on the up. Thank you to the very few who knew what was going on and kept it private. And for those who didn’t know, I’ll spare you the details but in short, I was hospitalized in May for a good while bc they found a mass in my lung that they couldn’t figure out what it was, turns out it’s pneumonia. A couple of ct scans found some other minor issues that I am taking care of. I feel better every day, now that I am getting a handle on these things. cheers to another trip around the sun."

It remains to be seen when Rebel will make her return to All Elite Wrestling.
