Current AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone (fka Sasha Banks) recently revealed that she attended a concert with former WWE Champion, Kofi Kingston's brother. Mone also shared her history with Kingston.
Mercedes Mone is one of the most renowned names in pro wrestling today. After making a name with WWE, the star went to NJPW and then joined AEW. Apart from her in-ring career, Mone also shares her various daily activities with the fans through social media and in her newsletter named Mone Mag.
During a recent edition of her newsletter, Mercedes revealed that she bumped into former WWE Champion Kofi Kingston's brother while attending a concert in Boston. Mone also disclosed that she and Kofi went to the same wrestling school in Boston named Chaotic Wrestling during the formative years of their career.
In the Mone Mag newsletter, Mercedes shared her bond with Kofi and what it was like to attend a concert with the WWE star's brother:
"Speaking of Kofi, I’ve always felt a connection with him because we both trained at the same wrestling school in Boston—Chaotic Wrestling. He was always so kind and helpful to me when I first came to WWE, and that bond has stuck with me throughout the years. Going to Pearl Jam with his brother was just another reminder of how tight-knit this wrestling family is. Kofi will always be a part of that for me," Mercedes wrote.
What is Mercedes Mone currently up to in AEW after All Out?
Mone has been the TBS Champion since the AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view. After her defense against Dr. Britt Baker at All In 2024, The CEO retained her TBS Title by defeating Hikaru Shida at the recent All Out pay-per-view as well. Mercedes Mone is awaiting her next title challenger as of now.
Interestingly, The CEO is not scheduled to defend her title at the AEW Dynamite Grand Slam next Wednesday. Only time will tell what Tony Khan has in store for Mone.
