Wrestling legend Matt Hardy, who currently performs in TNA, had a decent run in AEW. Interestingly, he got the opportunity to work with several talented names in Tony Khan's company.

NXT Heatwave's main event saw Ethan Page, Trick Williams, Je'Von Evans, and Shawn Spears battling for the NXT Championship in a Fatal Four-Way match. The bout ended with Page's triumph as he became the new NXT Champion. This is All Ego's first-ever title in the WWE and it has not been long since he made his debut in the company.

Interestingly, on X (formerly Twitter), Matt Hardly had some kind words to say about the 34-year-old's accomplishment. The former ECW Champion said that he was ecstatic to see Page's progress and loved working with him during their time together in AEW. Furthermore, he stated that he and the new NXT Champion were like-minded, and ended his statement by teasing a reunion.

"HELL YEAH! Thrilled that @OfficialEGO has won the @WWENXT Title. Loved working with Ethan, we’re like minded. I recognized immediately he was extremely talented. Me, him & Zay had the best time working together & the in-arena audiences embraced us. Congrats, Ethan! See ya Soon!"

In AEW, Matt Hardy and Ethan Page were members of The Firm stable. Some of its other members were, Stokely Hathaway, Isiah Kassidy, Big Bill (fka. W. Morrissey), and more.

Matt Hardy believes that Ethan Page will flourish in NXT

In a recent episode of The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, the 49-year-old said that WWE NXT was the perfect platform for Page to thrive. Furthermore, he praised the latter for his mic skills. Hardy said:

"I think it's the perfect spot for him. I think he could be in there, I think he could thrive. He is a great speaker, he's a great entertainer, and he gets how to stop, how to make the look, how to connect with the audience if he's a heel or a babyface or whatever it may be. He gets all of that, so I think he will do well there, and I'm super happy and stoked for my friend, who really didn't want to waste away in his prime years." [H/T: Wrestling INC]
