Matt Hardy recently broke character to support a current WWE star. This star was in AEW for a long time but left the promotion earlier this year.

The star in question is none other than Ethan Page. The 35-year-old star shocked the entire world when he won the NXT Championship at NXT Heatwave in July 2024. Since then, he successfully defended his title in several matches. However, Page lost the title to Trick Williams on the October 1, 2024, episode of NXT.

Matt Hardy has now claimed that Ethan Page is destined for the main roster and that it will take place sooner rather than later. The 50-year-old was speaking on his Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast when he said:

"He (Ethan Page) had a good run, you know, he had a great run. He came in and he rose to prominence very quickly and became NXT Champion, and I love the fact that he left AEW on his own [terms]. I do think he is destined for the main roster, sooner rather than later. He’s a solid worker, he can go out there and have a great match with anyone, and he is an entertainer. He gets the entertainment aspect of pro wrestling." [H/T WrestlingINC]

Trick Williams says Ethan Page "conned" his way into WWE

Trick Williams has made a big accusation against Ethan Page and this might not go down well with the latter. Whoop That Trick accused the former AEW star of "conning" his way into WWE.

Williams defeated Page to win the NXT Championship back last week. However, before he did that, Trick appeared as a guest on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet where he said the following about Ethan:

"He [Ethan Page] stole the title, he conned his way into WWE. He conned his way into the title picture. He conned the title of me. He ain’t gonna con his way into CW, enough is enough."

The rivalry between the two stars seems like it will go on for a bit longer and that means Matt Hardy's prediction might come to fruition at a later stage.
