The second annual AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view ended in controversial fashion on Saturday. Tony Schiavone called the main event massacre the worst horrific scene he's witnessed after a new world champion was crowned. Marina Shafir has issued an ominous message today while touting her stablemates.

Jon Moxley dethroned Bryan Danielson of the AEW World Championship in the 27-minute of the WrestleDream main event. Per the stipulation, Danielson can no longer compete full-time. Shafir, PAC, and Claudio Castagnoli entered post-match, then Wheeler Yuta and Darby Allin rushed out for the save, but Yuta turned heel.

Shafir and PAC duct-taped Allin to the corner as Moxley provided a plastic bag for Yuta to use on Danielson as Darby begged him to stop. Jeff Jarrett and Private Party also failed to save the former champion. The locker room then emptied out after Castagnoli stomped a chair around Danielson's neck. The heels quickly retreated and Danielson was stretchered away to close the pay-per-view in yet another shocking moment.

This comes after the recent revelation of internal Blackpool Combat Club issues. The Problem took to X (fka Twitter) today to ensure fans that their takeover was coming to a head. Shafir's five-word message also had a ringside photo from WrestleDream.

"The dust will settle soon #TheProblem," Marina Shafir wrote.

Shafir has not wrestled for AEW since her loss to Ruby Soho at the New Year's Smash Rampage tapings on December 27, 2023. She has worked eight ROH matches since then, along with numerous indie bouts. Her last match came at PROGRESS Chapter 171 on September 22, where she retained the DEFY Women's Championship over Nina Samuels and Kanji.

Jon Moxley cements history as AEW World Champion

Jon Moxley has extended his record with the AEW World Championship win. The former WWE Superstar became a four-time world champion for the company with his win over Bryan Danielson at WrestleDream.

The Lunatic Fringe already held the record for the most reigns as AEW World Champion with three, but now he has extended that record to four. Closest to him on the list is CM Punk with two reigns, not including his unrecognized reign as Real World Champion. The other All Elite stars to hold the world title all have one reign each: Danielson, MJF, Kenny Omega, Chris Jericho, Adam Page, Samoa Joe, and Swerve Strickland.

Moxley also had a reign as Interim World Champion. He currently has 348 combined days as champion, not including the interim reign. MJF still tops the list with 406 days. Omega is third with 346 days, while Page has 197 days, Jericho is at 182, Strickland has 126 days, Joe has 113 days, Punk is at 90, and Danielson had 48 days as World Champion.
