AEW star Sammy Guevara recently returned to the company's sister promotion, Ring of Honor. Plans for the Spanish God on the ROH brand have been revealed.

The 31-year-old was suspended in February 2024 after proceeding to hit his finishing move on a concussed Jeff Hardy during their No Disqualifications match on AEW Rampage. On the July 28th tapings of ROH TV, Sammy Guevara made his shocking return and came to the aid of Dustin Rhodes who was on the verge of a beatdown from the Dark Order.

On the latest tapings of AEW Collision set to air on August 3rd, Guevara interrupted the promo of ROH World Six-man Tag Team Champions Dustin Rhodes and the Von Erichs. The former TNT Champion addressed Dustin Rhodes and shared his desire to team up with The Natural:

It was recently reported that Sammy Guevara and Dustin Rhodes are set to be paired up soon. It will be interesting to see if the duo decides to win some tag team gold in the future.

Sammy Guevara had heat for refusing to work for CMLL

CMLL and AEW have a great working relationship however, former TNT Champion Sammy Guevara once refused to work in the Mexican promotion which put a lot of heat on the Spanish God.

Speaking on his Keepin' It 100 podcast, AAA producer Konnan opened up about Guevara's issues and revealed that it was because he no-showed three TV shows:

"We've been good friends for a while. I don't even know how that story got out because he privately told me he wanted to come to AAA and he had heat because he had the tag team championships with his wife and he no-showed three TVs. I was like 'Bro, you got mega f**king heat here right now. You gotta let the s**t to calm down'. I don't know maybe he told Tony, 'Hey I don't wanna work with CMLL, I would rather work with AAA' and he got heat. I don't think he would tell him that, you know he would be that dumb, you know as much as a fan that Tony is of CMLL." (57:47 - 58:28)

The Spanish God is now a part of the Ring of Honor brand. It will be interesting to see if he makes his return to AEW in the upcoming months.
