WWE legend Jim Cornette heavily criticized Jon Moxley on the latest edition of his podcast. The veteran claimed that the AEW star had regressed over the past few years.

The erstwhile Dean Ambrose was part of The Shield alongside Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in the early 2010s. The group disbanded in 2014 after The Visionary betrayed his stablemates. However, fans later saw the trio reunite briefly in 2017, 2018, and 2019. Moxley left the Stamford-based promotion in 2019 and turned All Elite later that year.

In episode 360 of his Drive Thru podcast, Jim Cornette blasted Jon Moxley. The 63-year-old called The Purveyor of Violence a "drunken bum,'' as he compared The Deathrider with Rollins and Reigns.

"When I was watching, none of this, 10 years ago or whatever it was, remember when Moxley was together in the WWE with Rollins and Roman Reigns [in The Shield] and Uncle Dave was saying, 'Oh, but the star of this group is Moxley,' and I was like, 'Boy, that guy must be pretty good!' Because I know how good Tyler Black [Seth Rollins] was," he said.

He continued:

"Now we have found out that what the f**k? So one is the co-biggest star in the business right now, Roman and Cody. One [Rollins] is in the upper echelons of stars in the business, and one [Moxley] is this f**ing drunken bum staggering around losing his hair in front of our eyes on TV every Wednesday night, making no sense." Jim Cornette predicts the result of Jon Moxley vs. Darby Allin at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam

Darby Allin will put his AEW World Title shot on the line against Jon Moxley at Dynamite: Grand Slam later tonight. In the same episode of Drive Thru, Jim Cornette predicted that the former WWE Superstar would prevail and advance to face reigning champion Bryan Danielson for the title at WrestleDream.

"It has to be Moxley, doesn't it? Because, didn’t he put just a plastic bag over the godda** champion’s [Bryan Danielson] f***ing head?" he said.

Allin earned a shot at the World Title in July 2024 when he won the Royal Rampage Match on Rampage. It will be interesting to see if he manages to retain the number one contender's spot later tonight.
