Wrestling veteran Konnan recently heaped praise on a top AEW star when asked if the latter was a massive draw for the Tony Khan-led company. The star in question is Maxwell Jacob Friedman.

MJF has been associated with All Elite Wrestling since its inception in 2019. He has also been one of the top guys in the company for the past few years. Currently, The Salt of the Earth has been absent from TV for the past few weeks, and fans definitely miss his presence.

Meanwhile, wrestling veteran Konnan showered high praises on MJF. During his Keepin' It 100 OFFICIAL podcast, the 60-year-old was asked whether MJF is not a draw anymore and Tony Khan's experiment is failing. The veteran gave the following response:

"Bro, the numbers have proven, we actually put the numbers on the screen every week and he's always the highest-rated segment or 90 percent of the time, right? So, you can't say he's not a draw. He's the most entertaining guy on that roster. He's the best on the mic and not only that he can go, he's had a lot of good matches." [1:50 - 2:18]

Konnan went on:

"You know, the guy has been... I'm not gonna say he has been carrying the company but he's been the face of the company basically since it started just about or two years in, definitely the last three to four years." [2:37 - 2:49]

It remains to be seen what the future has in store for the 28-year-old star.

When did MJF last compete in AEW?

At the AEW Double or Nothing Pay-Per-View earlier this year, MJF made his blockbuster return after five months of absence. He then had a top-tier feud with Will Ospreay which culminated in a great match at All In 2024. At the All Out 2024 Pay-Per-View, The Salt of the Earth defeated Daniel Garcia but was slammed from the top rope and has been off AEW programming since.

Moreover, fans are already anticipating MJF's return just weeks after his absence. Only time will tell when the 28-year-old star will make his return to AEW.
