Tony Khan is always looking to add talented wrestlers to the AEW roster. But a 38-year-old star may not join the promotion anytime soon. The name in question here is Matt Riddle.

A recent report by Fightful Select noted that the All Elite Wrestling President had no interest in signing the former WWE star to the Jacksonville-based promotion. Khan seemingly hadn't thought about hiring Riddle for his company for the past few years. It was also mentioned that All Elite Wrestling's performers hardly ever wrestle The Original Bro on the indies, except in Mexico.

When fans on X/Twitter found out that Tony Khan might not bring Riddle to his company anytime soon, they speculated that the former WWE star might eventually return to the Triple H-led promotion.

"I think he will be back in WWE just like Nia Jax," a fan wrote.
"He doing better in MLW anyway," a user wrote.

Some fans didn't want the former United States Champion to become All Elite. They didn't wish to see Riddle appear on the Tony Khan-led company's programming.

"Smart move on Tony Khan," a fan tweeted.
"I was gonna say that is good because we have no interest in seeing him," a comment read.

Matt Riddle on joining AEW

In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Matt Riddle spoke about liking All Elite Wrestling and its product. He also teased a potential future appearance in the Jacksonville-based promotion, mentioning that fans might see him on the company's programming sooner or later.

"I know MLW works with New Japan. NJPW works a lot with AEW. Maybe you'll see me on an AEW channel or broadcast sooner rather than later. Maybe you won't," Matt Riddle said.

Riddle added that he was relieved that he got fired from WWE as he had a hectic work schedule in the Stamford-based company. He found working on the independent circuit convenient.
