Legendary star Dustin Rhodes comes from wrestling royalty. His father, Dusty Rhodes, was a legendary name in the business as he won the prestigious NWA World Heavyweight Championship thrice and is also a WWE Hall of Famer. Additionally, his brother Cody Rhodes is the current Undisputed WWE Champion.

Rhodes has been signed with AEW since the inception of the company. Since its founder and co-owner Tony Khan also owns ROH (Ring of Honor), the latter operates as the former's sister promotion. From time to time, prominent AEW stars show up in ROH and deliver captivating in-ring performances and vice versa.

AEW recently organized the TV special, Battle of the Belts XI, which saw three impressive matches. The third match, i.e, the main event featured Rhodes and The Von Erichs (Marshall Von Erich and Ross Von Erich) taking on The Undisputed Kingdom (Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, and Mike Bennett) for the vacant ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship. The former trio emerged victorious and the post-match celebration was an emotional affair.

Additionally, Tony Khan also congratulated the new ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions for their achievement on X/Twitter. Rhodes too acknowledged him back with a simple 🙏🏼 emoji.
