Dustin Rhodes makes an urgent appeal to his fans

Dustin Rhodes, one of AEW's veteran figures, has appealed to his fans on social media. His plea concerns the use of a term frequently used by fans and industry experts alike.

One of the most revered and seasoned performers in pro wrestling history, The Natural is showing no signs of slowing down in the squared circle. The 55-year-old veteran recently shared some wisdom on social media regarding enhancement talent and the disrespectful lens through which they are often viewed.

Taking to X/Twitter, Dustin Rhodes requested his fan base refrain from using the word "jobber." The term has historically been used to denote enhancement talent, albeit with negative connotations. The Bizarre One argued that the word is insulting to wrestlers, given the toilsome work they put in on a weekly basis.

Rhodes went on to claim that most wrestlers have served as enhancement talents in some fashion, as they enable each other to develop their careers. He ended the post by asking his followers to be compassionate toward individuals who are involved in pro wrestling and help their co-workers improve.

"Please stop using the term "Jobber". It is extremely disrespectful to everyone who is putting their bodies on the line each week. All of us are 'Enhancement Talent'. We enhance each others careers. Show compassion to everyone that steps in this business and works hard enhancing others. #KeepSteppin," wrote Dustin.

Dustin Rhodes's last match was against Jack Perry on Dynamite last month. The Scapegoat defeated the veteran in a qualifier for the TNT Championship Ladder Match at Forbidden Door 2024, which he would go on to win at the pay-per-view.

Dustin Rhodes recently gave an update on his AEW future

It was reported earlier this year that the former Goldust's contract with the Tony Khan-led company would expire around the fall of 2024. This led to fans' speculation on social media regarding Dustin potentially reuniting with his brother Cody Rhodes in WWE or pursuing other ventures after his All Elite Wrestling exit.

However, Dustin Rhodes himself recently took to X/Twitter to address the rumors regarding his contract. He confirmed reports claiming that his deal with AEW is set to run out in September but refuted conjecture suggesting his time in the company is coming to a close.

Rhodes was seen on last week's episode of AEW Collision in a backstage segment with The Von Erichs. It remains to be seen what the former Intercontinental Champion's future holds in AEW.
