Dustin Rhodes, formerly known as Goldust, recently shared a heartfelt post after his crushing loss against The Elite member, Jack Perry, on AEW Dynamite. The Natural faced Perry in a bid to qualify for the TNT Championship ladder match at the Forbidden Door 2024 Pay-Per-View.

However, Rhodes' hopes of winning gold in AEW ended once again after Perry connected with a brutal knee strike to get the pinfall victory.

Shortly after, Dustin Rhodes took to X/Twitter to share that he was still calm and focused, among other things. The WWE legend further added he learns new things about the business every day and even brought up some of the hard times he had faced in his career.

"Always calm! Always focused! Always ready! Always nervous! Always confident! Always learning! Always Passionate! Everyday I learn something new about this business and utilize it to the best of my ability. I have struggled, I have fallen on my a**, I have gotten back up.....That is success. Whether the business loves me or not, I will continue to lift my success levels because of love. I am definitely under appreciated, but doing my best, Always evolving and staying relevant 36 yrs later. Even when I am in pain, I live!! #KeepSteppin #LastOfMyKind," Dustin Rhodes shared.

WWE Hall of Famer unhappy with one aspect of Dustin Rhodes' match on AEW Dynamite

While speaking on a recent edition of the Busted Open Radio podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray felt that the referee in the Dustin Rhodes vs. Jack Perry bout, Aubrey Edwards, failed to control the action on AEW Dynamite.

Ray slammed Edwards for letting the match continue on the floor without a count-out and for not following proper rope break rules.

"I don't know why AEW feels the need to have referees in some of these matches, because they just don't do their jobs, I liked the match, I didn't like the referee. Guy is out on the floor, no count, punches in the corner, no count. I mean is it that difficult to do your job? Is it that difficult to be the law and order in the ring? Is it that difficult to count to ten when a guy's on the floor? Or count to five when guys are in the ropes or in the corner?" Bully Ray said. [11:50 - 12:23]

The referee's mistakes notwithstanding, there was a clear victor at the end of the match, Jack Perry. It remains to be seen whether the 26-year-old star manages to capture the TNT Championship and strengthen The Elite even further in AEW.
