WWE veteran Dustin Rhodes has finally captured his first gold since joining AEW and the veteran recently addressed his victory. The Natural signed with the company in 2019.

At the AEW Battle of the Belts XI, Dustin Rhodes and The Von Erichs (Marshall & Ross Von Erich) successfully defeated The Undisputed Kingdom (Roderick Strong, Mike Bennett, and Matt Taven) to become the ROH Six-Man Tag Team Champions. This was the first title in AEW for Dustin Rhodes, who has been a part of the promotion since 2019.

In an exclusive video on AEW's YouTube channel, Dustin Rhodes put over the Von Erichs while reacting to his huge championship victory. The veteran called the moment surreal and couldn't believe he was sharing it with The Von Erichs.

"Guys, I’m going to be honest with you for just a second. This is a surreal moment for me. I’m 55 years old and I’ve been doing this a long, long time — 36 years. I promise you this from the bottom of my heart I can say this: I had no idea this is very special because the two families we have here, the Von Erichs and the Rhodes, I never in a million years thought I would be standing here with the Von Erichs in the ring and win six-man gold." AEW star Dustin Rhodes believes winning the ROH Six-man Tag Title is his best championship victory

In the same video, Dustin Rhodes spoke about how wrestlers often wanted to be the World Heavyweight Champion in their careers. That did not seem to be the case for Dustin and he could never manage to win the big one. However, he called his ROH Six-Man Tag Title victory the best one of his entire career. The Natural revealed that the title match came about very quickly and shared his excitement after capturing his first title in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

"I’ve won a lot of titles over the 36 years, and titles are very special in this business. Everybody who gets into the pro wrestling industry wants, or should want, to be World Heavyweight Champion. That hasn’t come to me, but, of all the titles that I’ve won, I can honestly say this one feels the best. This one feels the rightest. This is Texas, baby — that’s what we do. I don’t know if this match was thought of a month ago, but it came together pretty quick, and by God, we’re standing here: the Rhodes and the Von Erichs, the ROH Six-Man World Tag Team Champions." Dustin Rhodes' AEW contract is reportedly set to expire in September 2024. It will be interesting to see if the veteran signs another deal with the company or possibly returns to the WWE.
