WWE veteran Vince Russo believes AEW star Mercedes Mone thinks too highly of herself and said that she was not on the level as Stone Cold Steve Austin. Mone is the current TBS Champion.

Mercedes Mone arrived in AEW earlier this year and has been presented as the biggest female star in the promotion. She won the TBS Championship in her in-ring debut for the company at Double or Nothing. The CEO is often seen making comments about her success, which gets some interesting reactions from the wrestling fans and some veterans.

In the recent edition of Sportskeeda's exclusive The Wrestling Outlaws podcast, former WWE Head Writer Vince Russo claimed that Mercedes Mone is not what she thinks about herself. However, he praised her for choosing All Elite Wrestling after getting a better deal from Tony Khan.

"Man, it just seems like this woman thinks very, very highly of herself, bro and I just gotta tell you, from my point of view and where I sit, I don't think you are all what you think you are, I mean light or no light, bro. I think you're a good little hand, do I think you're Stone Cold Steve Austin? No. But, I mean she's got a very high opinion of herself and we all know, she left for a lot more money, so good for her, man." [2:25 - 3:09]

AEW's Mercedes Mone credits WWE star Natalya for helping her out

Natalya is a veteran in WWE and is still a full-time performer on the RAW brand. The Queen of Harts looks out for talents in the women's division and AEW's Mercedes Mone recently recalled Natalya helping her out in NXT.

In her recent Mone Mag newsletter, the TBS Champion called Natalya a legend and revealed that she helped her in her first dark match in NXT.

"Let me start with Natalya, an absolute legend in her own right. She’s been wrestling longer than me and has helped shape so many careers, including mine. My first dark match, some of my first NXT matches, Natalya was right there with me. I still remember being in the ring with her, and she would whisper things like, 'You’re doing great,' or 'Amazing job!' Honestly, that meant the world to me,'' she wrote.

It will be interesting to see if Mercedes Mone returns to WWE if and when her All Elite Wrestling run comes to an end.
