Chris Jericho recently talked about a major AEW star that he has gotten to work with during his time with the promotion. He loved sharing the ring with him, saying it reminded him of working with The Undertaker. This would be Samoa Joe.

The Learning Tree has been closely working with The Samoan Submission Machine as they feuded recently, with Joe looking to overcome his faction. However, this feud was cut short as the former AEW World Champion was written off TV due to a project he had outside the company.

During a recent interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Chris Jericho talked about how he loved sharing the ring with Samoa Joe as he was reminded of The Undertaker. He talked about their matches in WWE and how they were lackluster for him. He enjoyed how they finally faced off in AEW, with them being veterans in the business now.

“I don’t think you’ll ever find anybody who loves wrestling more than me. I love doing this, and I love the chance to wrestle Joe. We had two matches on RAW in 2017, and if my recollection is correct, one of them was about three minutes long, with a bulls**t DQ finish. Our Stampede Street Fight was literally our first proper match. It reminded me of being in the ring with The Undertaker. We’d been in the wrestling business for decades, but we’d barely touched. So, we decided to do something together. F***ing A man, Joe is great. I can’t wait to continue the story," Jericho said. [H/T - Sports Illustrated]

Chris Jericho addressed accusations of him burying young talent

During the same interview, the veteran addressed those who criticized him for burying young talent that he has feuded with.

He debunked this as he looked back at his time with WWE, and his feuds with the likes of Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, and Sami Zayn. For him, it was a two-way street as both sides gained experience.

Chris Jericho also mentioned how he did the same in AEW, as he has been trying to help other talent learn while working with them.

"I’ve been accused of burying young talent. Even go back to my last run in WWE, I was working with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn and Seth Rollins. I wanted to give them another way to learn, and I learned from them, too. That’s all I’ve done in AEW. Working early on with Hangman and Darby and Scorpio Sky and Jungle Boy and Orange Cassidy and MJF - who became a smarter and better wrestler - this is what I love to do," Chris Jericho said. Jericho has seemingly embraced his critics, as the comments about him burying talents were reportedly the inspiration for his new gimmick as The Learning Tree. It remains to be seen where this character will take him next.
