A popular AEW star has been absent from television for the past couple of months which has led to the fans questioning his status with the promotion. The name in question is none other than Danhausen.

The Very Nice Very Evil star signed with AEW in 2022 and had a decent run in the first couple of months. However, he fell victim to underwhelming booking and has been absent from television. Danhausen's last match was at the Worlds End PPV Zero Hour where he competed in the TNT Championship number one contender battle royal. The face-painted star has been involved in the independent wrestling scene during his absence from the Tony Khan-led promotion.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), AEW wished Danhausen on his 34th birthday which got some interesting reactions from the wrestling fans.

The fans commented on the post and expressed their disbelief about Danhausen still being employed by All Elite Wrestling.

Some other fans also shared their frustrations with Danhausen's booking by claiming that he's one of the most over characters in the Jacksonville-based promotion. Another fan requested the company to book him for All In at Wembley Stadium.

"[Danhausen] needs to be at Wembley," a fan requested.
"One of the most over characters you ever had and you never use him. And you wonder why no one watches your show anymore," this fan claimed.
"Very nice but very underused. Get him back on tv," another fan tweeted.

Matt Camp revealed he wanted AEW star Danhausen to work for the WWE in 2021

Danhausen is currently signed to AEW and managed to get over with the crowd. However, his booking in the promotion has been lackluster as he has mostly been used as a comedic character.

On the Wrestling Matt podcast, former WWE Bump analyst Matt Camp revealed that he wanted Danhausen to come to the Stamford-based promotion in 2021. He explained that he had an entire pitch ready, however, Danhausen's commitments with Ring of Honor prevented him from coming to the WWE.

"I wanted Danhausen to come work and do things with me and WWE. I had an entire pitch... He was under contract at that time. It never went anywhere, so I wasn't tampering or anything like that. But he was under contract; I think he was doing ROH stuff, whatever it might have been... [shows a picture with Hausen] This was September 2021. There's me and Danhausen in Connecticut... I reached out to him after he did the interview with Konnan..." Camp recalled.

Danhausen can potentially become a big star in WWE due to its story-driven product. It will be interesting to see if The Very Nice Very Evil star heads to the Stamford-based promotion after this AEW contract expires.
