For the past few years, Ripley was part of The Judgment Day where she dominated the roster. She also played the role of Dominik Mysterio's onscreen love interest. Meanwhile, Ripley was in a real-life relationship with AEW star, Buddy Matthews. The couple recently tied the knot in June 2024.

Today, Rhea Ripley just celebrated her 28th birthday. On this special occasion, Buddy took to his Instagram account to send a heartfelt message to his wife.

"Happiest Australian 🇦🇺 Birthday to the absolute love of my life! @rhearipley_wwe," he wrote.

Buddy Matthews addresses House of Black potentially splitting up in a bad way

Buddy Matthews is a member of the House of Black, a dominant faction in AEW since 2022. Through the years, they have destroyed several wrestlers in the ring and showcased their collective dominance. However, the last few months haven't been the most fruitful for the group.

Hence when Matthews was asked about the group's potential split during a recent K&S Wrestlefest virtual signing. The former WWE star replied that House of Black didn't necessarily have to split in a bad way like other groups. He talked about the unique nature of the stable where everyone had the others' support and under the same umbrella, each member could go ahead and elevate their individual singles careers.

"I think with The House of Black especially like, we don't necessarily have to go down that same path as the other groups where it just ends in you know, bad way. But we are simply under the same umbrella, where we've been very supportive I think whether doing singles or all of us doing singles, somewhere we're still under that same umbrella I think that's something cool and unique," he said.

It will be interesting to see if the House of Black will be able to regain the AEW World Trios Championship again and reassert their dominance in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
