AEW star Bryan Danielson won a huge contest despite failing to capture a top championship of the company. He wrestled Kazuchika Okada in the main event of the fifth anniversary of Dynamite tonight.

After defeating Nigel McGuinness on Dynamite: Grand Slam last week, The American Dragon set his eyes on wrestling at Dynamite's fifth-anniversary. He then challenged Continental Champion Kazuchika Okada for a match. Later, the promotion announced that the match would be a 'title vs title' bout with a unique stipulation.

For those who don't know, the Continental Championship match has a time limit of 20 minutes, while the AEW World Championship one has an hour limit. It was also stipulated that The Rainmaker's title would be on the line for only 20 minutes. After crossing the 20-minute mark, the match will no longer be a title vs. title match, as only Bryan Danielson's belt will be on the line. The stipulations and conditions of the match were very rare.

During the highly anticipated contest, The American Dragon failed to defeat Kazuchika Okada within the given time, and therefore, he failed to capture the Continental Championship. However, Bryan Danielson defended his AEW World Title after pinning Okada later in the contest.

The AEW World Champion is slated to defend his title against Jon Moxley at WrestleDream pay-per-view.
