An AEW broadcaster has stated that he would have immediately left the building if Vince McMahon had given him any instructions in a condescending tone. The broadcaster in question is Tony Schiavone. The 66-year-old also mentioned how his current boss Tony Khan handled things in All Elite Wrestling, claiming that the AEW CEO was immensely respectful to the announcers.

Even in the past, the likes of Michael Cole and Jim Ross have opened up about their forgettable experiences while working with the former WWE Chairman.

During an episode of his What Happened When podcast, Tony Schiavone opened up about how Vince McMahon was disrespectful to many announcers in the past. The AEW commentator stated if he had worked under McMahon, he wouldn't have tolerated disparaging comments and would have immediately walked out.

Notably, the 66-year-old worked for the Sports Entertainment juggernaut in 1989-90. However, the veteran commentator clarified that Bruce Prichard was his producer during his stint.

"I can tell you right now, and this will never happen because the way things are now. Had I ever worked in WWE with Vince producing me the way he produced some of those announcers, I would have dropped my headset and walked off the show immediately. Guaranteed, I would’ve walked right out of the building. When I was with the WWE that one year, Bruce Prichard was my producer. Bruce did a great job in my ear. You have to coach them; you just can’t talk s**t to them,'' he said. [H/T: Fightful Wrestling]

Schiavone also mentioned how Tony Khan allowed the announcers to do their job without interfering.

"Tony does not do that to me; he knows not to do that to the announcers. Sometimes he will raise his voice up; he’ll be excited about what’s going on,” he added.

AEW veteran Jim Ross on how a minor disagreement with Vince McMahon resulted in his release

During a recent episode of his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross disclosed that his unexpected WWE exit in 1994 was due to a small disagreement with McMahon.

The legendary commentator revealed that while Vince McMahon wanted to see him appear on TV by donning a string tie and a Western-style jacked, Ross was against the idea.

"Conrad, I think I was wrong. I made too big a deal out of it when it wasn't. It was costume, television apparel. It's like an actor going to the director and saying, 'Do I have to grow a beard? I have to wear the hat?' I didn't care; the hat was fine. I wasn't overwhelmed with the oversimplification of what my character was supposed to be," he said.

Jim Ross parted ways with the Stamford-based promotion in March 2019. The veteran joined Tony Khan's AEW in April 2019.
