An AEW star was very proud of his first championship win in 10 years. The promotion's President, Tony Khan has also reacted to the special moment.

Dustin Rhodes is considered a legend in the pro wrestling business. He first made a name for himself in WWE under the ring name, Goldust. He wrestled for the promotion as a mid-carder for several years before eventually leaving to join AEW with his brother, Cody Rhodes.

Despite being involved in many feuds and storylines in the company, he was unable to win a title. However, that has now changed. During a recent episode of Battle of the Belts, Dustin teamed up with The Von Erichs to face the Undisputed Kingdom for the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship. After a hard-fought contest, it was Dustin's team that emerged victorious.

Following the match, he took to social to express how proud he was to win a title. His last championship win came in 2014 when he won the WWE Tag Team Championships with Cody Rhodes who went by the name, Stardust, at the time.

"After years of hard work...... I have won my first title in a long time with a very special set of circumstances. 2 royal families together as your New @ringofhonor World 6 man Champions! @RossVonErich @MarshallVonEric @AEW Proud that I #KeptSteppin," he wrote.

Tony Khan teases renaming Ring of Honor

Ring of Honor is a prestigious promotion that has established several top stars today. The promotion was purchased by Tony Khan a few years ago and since then, several ROH stars have appeared on AEW television.

During the post-media scrum for Death Before Dishonor, Tony Khan mentioned that ROH could benefit from being closely associated with AEW and teased that it could be renamed 'AEW ROH.'

“I recognize that AEW is at the very top of pro wrestling. The ROH brand could frankly benefit from even more association. I don’t think it’s out of the question to say or sacrilegious to say. I think it would only help grow the ROH brand if I were to license it, sublicense if it were AEW ROH," he said. [H/T: Wrestle Talk]

It remains to be seen if the AEW boss will go through with his plan of rebranding ROH.
