A popular AEW star recently revealed who among those in the company's locker room has helped him the most across the past year after his time alongside Chris Jericho came to an end. This would be Daniel Garcia talking about FTR.

Garcia has become one of the more popular members of the roster over the past few months. This started during the Continental Classic Tournament late last year. His underdog story began after he beat the likes of Brody King in singles competition. He has since then gone on to contend for major titles and feature in several major feuds.

While talking to Dennis Salcedo, Daniel Garcia talked about his life after being a part of the Jericho Appreciation Society and how he struggled following that. He mentioned how FTR had been among those who helped him the most. Garcia also spoke about how they had invited him to appear with them on Collision, and this, along with his run in the Continental Classic, helped him rise through the ranks in AEW.

"I think the person who's helped me the most in AEW, as far as like advice and things like that, has been FTR. FTR has been amazing to me, when I was kind of, like, floundering after the JAS stuff. I really didn't know what was going to be the next move for me. I was kind of confused, I didn't know what to do. It was their idea, 'Hey, like, you should come on Collision, we think we could have something for you over here.' I went on Collision, that's when I started the Continental Classic run and I started to really pick up momentum again in my career for the first time in probably like a year at that point. I owe so much to FTR, they're amazing people." [10:38 - 11:18]

Daniel Garcia has yet to re-sign with AEW

For some time now, a major topic of conversation surrounding Garcia has been his contract talks as his contract is seemingly set to expire this Fall.

He has received interest from both AEW to WWE, but while it seems he may be re-signing with the former, this has not been officially done just yet. According to a recent report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Daniel Garcia has yet to sign a new deal with AEW.

Another report has mentioned how Triple H has great interest in him and has even called him a great technical wrestler, comparing him with the likes of Roderick Strong and Bryan Danielson.

Fans will just have to wait for further updates regarding any updates on his contract negotiations. As AEW is concerned, Garcia has yet to appear or make any statement following his loss to MJF at All Out.
