AEW star Thunder Rosa seemingly helped a top NXT talent in joining WWE. The name in question is none other than Thea Hail.
The 20-year-old is currently a member of Chase University on the NXT brand. She has quickly proved to be a major player and is set to challenge Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women's Championship at The Great American Bash on July 30, 2024.
In a recent chat with the Pittsburgh City Paper, Thea Hail revealed that her father found her a wrestling school in Pittsburgh, which eventually helped her get a match against Thunder Rosa on AEW Dark. She further revealed that Rosa helped her in contacting a WWE recruiter.
“He found me a training school in Pittsburgh called the Stronghold Training Center, and then that was combined with the Iron City Wrestling Academy, and I trained at both of those schools. I ended up landing a dark [non-televised] match for AEW after having a seminar with QT Marshall, and I wrestled Thunder Rosa, and she got me in contact with a recruiter from WWE.” [H/T: Fightful]

Rey Mysterio has paved the way for many stars to pursue a career in pro wrestling. NXT's Thea Hail has revealed that the Hall of Famer was her inspiration behind starting her wrestling journey.
In the same interview, Thea Hail revealed that she had no clue about her future, but a video of Rey Mysterio made her choose professional wrestling as her career.
“I quit gymnastics, I quit cheer. I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life, and I was just scrolling through Instagram, and I always followed WWE. I always thought it was amazing, but I never really thought it was a thing you could do. I saw this video of Rey Mysterio, and I just put my phone down and went, ‘I'm doing that.’” [H/T: Fightful]
