Tonight at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, Hook and his father, Taz, shared an emotional moment as they retired the FTW Championship, a title part of their family legacy. Tony Khan has now sent a short message to the ECW veteran following this.

Moments ago, The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil defended his title successfully against Roderick Strong. He once more conquered the numbers advantage by besting The Undisputed Kingdom.

Following the match, Hook walked over to ringside near the commentary desk. He announced that the title would be retired from this point forward and handed it over to his father, who introduced it into the industry back in 1998.

On X/Twitter, AEW President Tony Khan sent a short message to Taz, thanking him for the iconic title and its contribution to the industry.

"Thank you @OfficialTAZ! #AEWDynamite Grand Slam tonight, live right NOW on @TBSNetwork!" TK posted.

Several major names in AEW have held the title, including Ricky Starks, Jack Perry, Chris Jericho, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Hook, who is the only three-time champion in the belt's history.

With him now retiring the title, it remains to be seen what's next for Hook, seeing as he is still one of the top singles competitors on the roster.
