AEW star Samoa Joe has performed in several wrestling promotions worldwide. He made his debut in the Tony Khan-led company in 2022 and has held two of the promotion's top titles so far.

Earlier this year, The Samoan Submission Machine was written off AEW programming after a brutal Stampede Street Fight with Chris Jericho on Dynamite. This came to fruition because the 45-year-old star was filming the second season of a television series called Twisted Metal. Interestingly, the Tony Khan-led company may have accidentally spoiled his return.

AEW's upcoming pay-per-view, Grand Slam Australia, will take place on February 15, 2025, at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Queensland. This will be the Jacksonville-based promotion's first-ever event in Australia and its official poster has been released. It features prominent names such as Jon Moxley, Swerve Strickland, "Hangman" Adam Page, Orange Cassidy, Samoa Joe, MJF, and more. The company has not yet officially announced the 45-year-old star's return date. However, because of this poster, fans are certain that Joe will perform at the show.

It remains to be seen whether the former WWE United States Champion will make an appearance at Grand Slam Australia.

AEW star Samoa Joe on playing Sweet Tooth in Twisted Metal

In the television series Twisted Metal, Samoa Joe played a character named Sweet Tooth, a clown with psychopathic tendencies. Interestingly, the 45-year-old star was a fan of the character even before portraying it. In an interview from last year, The Samoan Submission Machine revealed that he played "Twisted Metal" video games as a child.

"I think when you talk about Sweet Tooth, I think it's a big part of everybody's childhood, especially if you picked up a game controller. When I was asked, 'Hey, have you heard of Twisted Metal?' I said, 'Did you own a PlayStation?' Because, I think it actually came with the system when you bought it. Twisted Metal, in general, Sweet Tooth obviously being the face of it was something that was really very big to me when I was a kid," Samoa Joe said. [H/T Screen Rant]

Samoa Joe is one of All Elite Wrestling's biggest names and upon his return, Tony Khan will try to put him back in the title picture.
