WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long claims he has never heard a bad thing about a major AEW star who is reportedly frustrated with his booking. The name in question is none other than Miro.
The Redeemer arrived in AEW in 2020 looking to become a major player in professional wrestling. After a remarkable TNT Championship reign, the former Rusev was widely expected to become world champion. However, Miro seemingly fell victim to underwhelming booking and has been off television since Worlds End 2023. He reportedly asked for his release from the Tony Khan-led promotion.
In an exclusive chat on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, hosted by Mac Davis, Teddy Long claimed that he never heard anything bad about the former TNT Champion's behavior backstage. Long noted that Miro could be hard to deal with in AEW and blamed the promotion for the potential issue.
"As far as I know, I never heard anybody say anything bad about him. It was always nice conversation but I don't know what is really going on. He could be a part of it too, he could be hard to deal with, I don't know that. Like I said, my blame is basically on AEW." [1:29 - 1:49]
Teddy Long on how AEW wants to use its talents
All Elite Wrestling has brought in many top names from around the world. However, home-grown talents like MJF, Jack Perry, Sammy Guevara, and Daniel Garcia have also received numerous opportunities.
In the same podcast, Teddy Long explained the potential issue with All Elite Wrestling's booking patterns.
"They have not lost the knowledge of how to use talent. They're guys that's been in this business [for] 30 [to] 40 years, and you [are] gonna tell me they don't know how to use the talent? It's what they wanna do and what they don't wanna do." [1:10 - 1:28]
All Elite Wrestling recently inked a massive deal with WBD, which allows the promotion to stream Dynamite and Collision on Max in the US starting January 2025.
