The ratings are in for this week's episode of AEW Dynamite. The viewership figures witnessed a marked improvement as the show returned to its usual broadcast day.

The October 16, 2024, edition of Dynamite emanated from the SAP Center in San Jose, CA, and followed up on the aftermath of this year's iteration of the WrestleDream pay-per-view from last Saturday. The episode continued to build on AEW's current top angles and featured several high-profile matches, including a title bout and a major in-ring debut.

Back to its usual broadcast spot on Wednesday, and courtesy of the creative momentum All Elite Wrestling has gathered coming out of WrestleDream, this week's Dynamite saw a considerable improvement in viewership numbers compared to last week's show. The episode drew 633,000 viewers and registered a rating of 0.20 in the 18-49 demographic.

Dynamite also reportedly ranked sixth among other cable programs at prime time, and its figures were surpassed by a major baseball game on FS1, the WNBA Finals broadcast on ESPN, and FOX News telecasts.

A summary of this week's episode of AEW Dynamite

AEW Dynamite this week featured several exciting matches, including a tag bout where FTR defeated Bryan Keith and Big Bill and a TBS Title bout which saw Mercedes Moné retain her belt against Queen Aminata.

Shelton Benjamin overcame Lio Rush in his All Elite in-ring debut, and Christian Cage defeated Jay White in the main event after Hangman Page took out The Switchblade with a Buckshot Lariat behind the referee's back.

Furthermore, a trios match between The Conglomeration and The Elite would be disrupted by The BCC and Jon Moxley carrying out an ambush on several stars, including Orange Cassidy, Kyle O'Reilly, Rocky Romero, Top Flight, Action Andretti, and The Dark Order. Their battle even spilled into the backstage area, seemingly in keeping with the newly-crowned AEW World Champion's goal of rebuilding All Elite Wrestling according to his own vision.

The violence exhibited by Moxley and his stablemates has led to The Elite being called out for their inaction, backstage alliances being forged, and challenges being issued to the heel faction.

Dynamite also presented a Press Conference featuring the new version of The Don Callis Family and announced two future matches - a ladder match for the ROH World Title between Mark Briscoe and Chris Jericho for next week and a bout between Swerve Strickland and Shelton Benjamin scheduled for Dynamite on October 30.
