A wrestling legend indicated that he wants to win the AEW World Championship and take it to a major promotion. The star in question is Shingo Takagi.

Takagi is a Japanese wrestling legend who has accomplished a lot in the industry through the years. However, Takagi has recently taken an interest in All Elite Wrestling and will even compete in the Owen Hart Cup. He will face Bryan Danielson in the first round.

During a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, the star revealed that he wants to win the AEW World Title. He even explained the reason why he wants to defeat Jon Moxley and win the big one in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

“Jon Moxley took our IWGP title and defended it in AEW. So it would only be right for me to take the AEW belt and defend it in NJPW," Takagi said. [H/T: Fightful]

Shingo Takagi explained why he entered The Owen Hart Foundation Tournament in AEW.

Fans were surprised when Shingo Takagi expressed his desire to compete in The Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Although he won't have it easy in his first-round match against The American Dragon Bryan Danielson at Forbidden Door, he seems determined to go all the way.

During the same interview with Sports Illustrated, Shingo Takagi stated that he was driven to enter The Owen Hart Cup after seeing the atmosphere for All In 2023.

“I was in London while All In was happening. When Will Ospreay wrestled Chris Jericho in front of 80,000 people, that got to me–the idea that it could have been me in that spot. That’s what drove me to enter this Owen Hart Cup," Takagi said, speaking through a translator. [H/T: Fightful]
