AEW WrestleDream 2024 is upon us, and Bryan Danielson is the number one name on the card. He will be taking on Jon Moxley in what could be a pivotal moment in his wrestling career.

The entire wrestling world was shocked when The Blackpool Combat Club, led by Jon Moxley, attacked Danielson at All Out pay-per-view in September. Since then, the faction has been on a rampage and has looked at taking out Danielson.

The American Dragon himself has admitted to having neck issues again, which has sparked rumors that he could retire after WrestleDream. In this article, we will look at the names that could officially retire after WrestleDream 2024.

#5. AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson

Let us address the elephant in the room. Bryan Danielson has achieved pretty much everything there is to achieve in wrestling. After he won the AEW World Title at All In at Wembley Stadium, things felt like they came full circle.

Given that he has achieved the big prize and his recent admission of injury troubles, the time might be right for him to call it a day. A match with Jon Moxley might be the perfect way to end it, after all.

#4. Adam Copeland

This one is a surprising name, but it feels like Adam Copeland’s time in AEW might be coming to an end. He got at Double or Nothing during his match against Malakai Black and has not been seen since then.

AEW seemingly let the cat out of the bag when they advertised Adam Copeland's attendance at the show. While it is not yet known why he will be there, it could be that he is coming back to announce his retirement, given the injury he suffered in May.

#3. Billy Gunn

Billy Gunn has seen it all in his wrestling career, which has spanned decades and various companies. He is currently a part of The Acclaimed and has matches from time to time.

However, given that he will be turning 61 in November, the time might be coming for him to hang up his boots. WrestleDream 2024 could serve as the perfect opportunity for him to make that call and transition permanently into a manager role for The Acclaimed.

#2. Jeff Jarrett

WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett has had a surprisingly good run in AEW, given his age and experience. The match that he had against Hangman Adam Page last month was a testament that he could still cut it at the very top.

Like Billy Gunn, he is catching up in age and will be thinking of taking up a role that will ensure his wife is not afraid of his well-being. Karen was clearly not happy with him wrestling Adam Page last month, and that could prompt him to call it a day on his storied wrestling career.

#1. Christian Cage

Christian Cage is one step away from glory, so etch his name into AEW folklore. He has the sure shot title shot that he won at All In when he won the Casino Gauntlet match.

Given the rivalry between Danielson and Moxley, they will surely have a very exhausting match. Cage could be tempted to cash in and see if he could win the title. If he is unsuccessful, then one should not be shocked if he calls it quits and moves on to take a backstage role.
