AEW star Adam Copeland has been out of action since May 2024. However, there's a possibility that he could return soon and join a major faction. The veteran was forced to relinquish his TNT Championship in May due to an injury.

At the 2024 AEW Double or Nothing PPV, Adam Copeland successfully defended his TNT Championship against Malakai Black in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match. However, during the match, Copeland broke his tibia after he jumped off the top of the cage and landed on his feet. The veteran recently confirmed that he's in the right direction with his recovery, and many wonder when they'll see him back on television.

The Rated-R Superstar is no stranger to pulling shocking twists in his persona and could very well turn heel and join his best friend Christian Cage upon his return. Cage currently leads The Patriarchy faction, which also includes Nick Wayne, Shayna Wayne, and Killswitch (Luchasaurus).

It was recently reported that Killswitch was found unconscious by his fiancee on September 27, 2024. He was later diagnosed with double pneumonia. The former TNT Champion is set to be absent for a notable amount of time, which opens up the opportunity for AEW to replace him with Adam Copeland in The Patriarchy. However, the angle is speculative at this point.

Bryan Alvarez believes AEW star Killswitch's condition could be career-ending

It was recently reported by Bryan Alvarez that Killswitch had not been training in the gym and would not be able to do so for the foreseeable future.

Alvarez also said that the medical condition could force the AEW star to retire from in-ring competition.

"I don’t want to say it’s a career-ending issue, but it could be a career-ending issue. He's not back in the gym, and he will not be back in the gym for a while, and he’s not going to be back wrestling, probably, for a while. Hopefully, he will be back wrestling in a while," he said on Wrestling Observer Live.

We will have to wait and see when Killswitch returns to television.
