With just two weeks left till AEW Blood and Guts, the squad of stars set to face off against The Elite has not been finalized yet. Could the second member of the group be announced tomorrow on Dynamite?

This could be the former WWE star and current AEW World Champion, Swerve Strickland. The star has been vocal about not wanting to align himself with The Elite so far. Last week, ROH World Champion Mark Briscoe revealed that he would be the first of five men to represent the company in facing off against The Elite.

With four out of five members of Team Elite being ready, it would be the perfect time to reveal the rest of Team AEW, and Swerve Strickland, being the fighter he is, would be a perfect candidate to dish out punishment.

He has already turned down The Elite before

Almost a month ago, The Young Bucks had already began planning ahead of the special match. They looked for the best option for them and tried recruiting the AEW World Champion to their side.

He turned them down instantly as he did not supposedly respect them and did not want to be by their side. This prompted the faction to try to attack him, but The Acclaimed came to his aid.

Swerve Strickland may have added inspiration to being a part of the match

One of the biggest returns to the promotion in the recent past featured Hangman Adam Page, who had not been seen since March. During their last encounter, Hangman did everything he could to not let Swerve win the world title, even if it came at the cost of him losing.

When the former AEW World Champion made his return, The Young Bucks immediately tried playing nice to their former close friend, but he gave them a cold shoulder. Despite this, they have been helping him in hopes that he will come around.

Since Swerve has been teased to be involved at Blood and Guts. He and Hangman could both enlist themselves to be on oppsoing teams. Seeing as Page has more hatred for Swerve than anyone, he could let bygones be bygones and join The Elite for this one time only.

He could get back at The Elite for reinstating Hangman Adam Page in AEW

For a few weeks now, there had been reports about Hangman Adam Page making his return to AEW. Last week on Dynamite, he emerged as the wildcard for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

It seems that Swerve Strickland still harbors ill-will against Hangman, as a few weeks ago he had a short response to the reports that Page was set to come back soon. He posted an angry emoji which was enough to capture how he wasn't looking forward to this.

It was seemingly The Young Bucks who made this happen, as they revealed that the wildcard was someone they selected. On Collision a few days ago, they finally got to talk to Hangman, as they took credit for bringing him back from suspension.

Swerve could side with Team AEW as a way to get back at The Elite for bringing back someone he hated so much to the promotion.

Fans will have to stay tuned to tomorrow night's Dynamite to see whether more members of Team AEW will be announced and if Swerve will be one of them.
