Bryan Danielson’s full-time in-ring career came to a shocking end at WrestleDream 2024 when he lost his AEW World Title to Jon Moxley. After the match, he was taken out by the faction and even saw Wheeler Yuta turn on him.

It was a sobering reminder of how The American Dragon’s career was on its last legs and given the stark reality, one has to accept the situation and move on. There are not many wrestlers on the planet who have the ability of Danielson.

However, there are definitely some young stars who have the potential to reach those heights but it is way too high at the moment. In this article, we will take a look at four such AEW stars that could be the next Bryan Danielson.

#4. Wheeler Yuta

Wheeler Yuta shockingly turned on his mentor at WrestleDream, thereby owing his allegiance to Jon Moxley and co. It was expected given how he has been linked with the group since its inception.

Danielson once waxed lyrical about Yuta and said that he is way more talented at his age than he was.

"Wheeler has so much upside. He's an incredible human being and that's the part I really look at with people. If you were to look at me when I was 27, I had a lot of holes in my game. I think Wheeler, from an in-ring standpoint and from a promo standpoint, he's getting better all the time. He did a match with Rocky Romero on Rampage that was just fantastic. I just think he's doing a great job," Bryan stated.

#3. Daniel Garcia

Daniel Garcia is someone who has been hailed by fans and critics alike to be very talented. There were a lot of rumors of him jumping ship to WWE but he put those rumors to bed by announcing that he signed a new deal with AEW. Like Yuta, Garcia has been through the grind when it comes to honing his skills.

He is very similar to Bryan Danielson when it comes to his stature and his in-ring style. Given that he has signed a new deal with the company, one can expect that he will receive a push and go on to become the next Danielson.

#2. Orange Cassidy

Orange Cassidy is AEW through and through and has formed a bond with the fans unlike anyone else. He has a very unique wrestling style and the fans seem to love it. While his style is nothing like The American Dragon's, it is unique in its own way and seems to have resonated with fans. He pulls off every move with ease and has built an arsenal that suits his gimmick well.

Like Bryan Danielson, he is loved by the fans and Tony Khan could use that as a reason to push him into the main event scene in AEW. It is something that is long overdue for the man from Wherever.

#1. Ricochet could be the next Bryan Danielson

Ricochet signed up with AEW amid huge fanfare and when he made his debut at All In, the roof blew off the place at Wembley Stadium. However, over the last few months, the steam seems to have run out and there is a danger that he could be lost in the mid-card.

With the retirement of Bryan Danielson, Tony Khan could sense a perfect opportunity to push Ricochet into the limelight and give him the chance that he never really got in WWE.
