Samoa Joe is currently absent from AEW television. The Destroyer was last seen on television in July 2024, when he was decimated by Chris Jericho's faction on Dynamite. The heel trio dealt serious damage to the former AEW World Champion, effectively writing him off television for the next few months.

The Samoan Submission Machine is currently filming the second season of Twisted Metal in Toronto. He is expected to wrap up its shoot this month. Once he is done with his current acting stint, Samoa Joe could make his much-awaited return to AEW.

There are several intriguing storyline possibilities for The Destroyer when he eventually comes back to the Jacksonville-based promotion. In this article, let's look at three ways Samoa Joe could resume his AEW career:

#3. Samoa Joe could help HOOK against Christian Cage

Before being written off television, Samoa Joe was in an onscreen partnership with Hook. The Destroyer had assumed the role of HOOK's mentor, as he constantly backed the young star against common foes like Chris Jericho.

The Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil was recently dealt an emotional blow by an unidentified star. Taz, HOOK's father, was attacked in the parking lot by a disguised assailant a few weeks ago on Dynamite.

Several hints indicate that Christian Cage might be the individual who assaulted Taz in the parking lot, intending to draw the attention of HOOK. If Captain Charisma has indeed set his sights on the 25-year-old star, the latter will need some backup to fend off the former TNT Champion.

Samoa Joe could emerge as a trustworthy ally for the former FTW Champion in his war against The Patriarchy. As someone who rarely shows any remorse, Christian Cage will likely play psychological mind games with HOOK.

However, Cage might need to rethink his plans if The Samoan Submission Machine were to get involved. An aggressive performer in the squared circle, Joe would be eager to punish The Patriarch for all the crimes he has committed since turning heel.

#2. The Destroyer could step up against Jon Moxley's newest faction

Jon Moxley is determined to change the landscape of All Elite Wrestling forever. The Purveyor of Violence is gradually putting together a faction of dangerous heels who could help him reshape AEW as per his vision.

As Moxley prepares to take over the Jacksonville-based promotion, resistance from the company's top babyfaces is inevitable. Things could become really intriguing in AEW once Samoa Joe is ready to make his return to the company.

The Samoan Submission Machine would not approve of Jon Moxley's desire to lead All Elite Wrestling with an iron fist. Joe would be eager to end the chaos caused by Moxley's faction, bringing him on a collision course with The Deathrider.

While they have already faced each other in WWE, Moxley, and Joe haven't had a full-fledged rivalry in the Tony Khan-led company. With The Deathrider targeting all the top babyfaces, The Destroyer could emerge as the savior of the AEW locker room.

#1. The Samoan Submission Machine could go after Hangman Adam Page

Samoa Joe and Hangman Adam Page are no strangers to each other. The two stars collided against each other in a three-way match at Revolution 2024, where The Destroyer retained his AEW World Championship by submitting The Cowboy.

The Anxious Millennial Cowboy has embraced a violent side in the past few months. The 33-year-old star has committed several heinous crimes recently, making him one of the most despicable heels in the business.

However, a returning Samoa Joe could knock some sense into Hangman Page. If there is an individual who could have an answer to Page's violence, it is The Samoan Submission Machine.

Fans would be excited at the prospect of a proper feud between the two former AEW World Champions. It would not be easy for The Cowboy to dominate a veteran like Joe, who has dismantled countless deranged opponents in his illustrious career.

After months of terrorizing the entire roster, Hangman's reign of destruction could come to an end when he crosses paths with Samoa Joe.
