The Young and the Restless is gearing up for a celebration, and its stars have been sharing the backstage fun while filming.

Melissa Ordway (Abby Newman) made Y&R fans happy few times lately by sharing when she’s been en route to CBS’s Studio City to shoot new episodes of The Young and the Restless.
She posted a photo on her Instagram last week of a selfie with Bryton James, who plays her onscreen husband Devon Hamilton, and Mishel Morgan, who, it had just been announced, was returning to the show as Amanda Sinclair. “What could this trio be up to?” Ordway had teased.
This week, Ordway was back in L.A., sharing again with her fans on her trip from her home in Nashville, TN, where she lives with her husband, actor Justin Gaston (ex-Chance, Y&R), and their two daughters.
But while Ordway happily shared the festivities backstage with some of her costars, she inadvertently gave away signs of an onscreen celebration.
Dancing with the (co-)Stars
On their Instagram reels and stories, some of the cast of The Young and the Restless shared some hilarious moments behind the scenes while taping this week. In one video, Ordway danced in her dressing room for the camera. Behind her, her costars Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman), Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson), and Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) joined in. When she turned to see them behind her, she jokingly threw up her arms and walked off.
In another video, the women drew inspiration from a sketch from Saturday Night Live’s Lawrence Welk singers, a group of “sisters” and one is…a little different from the others. As each of them sang their name in introduction, the punchline had Davidson waving two brushes and screeching “And I’m Eileen.”

Fans were quick to note that the cast was in costume — and they were all dressed up a little fancier than going to Crimson Lights or a day at the office. It was recently announced that Jai Rodriguez is coming to Genoa City to plan a birthday celebration for Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) — did we just get a sneak peek at the fashions they’ll be wearing to the party?
Eileen Davidson modelled her gown, and Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summer) also showed off her dress, with Y&R’s iconic costume designer Mandi Line getting credit in the background. Tracey Bregman also looked stunning in her photos, showing a selfie with Christian LeBlanc, who plays her onscreen hubby, Michael Baldin.
