At Crimson Lights, Phyllis sat at Chance’s table and told him she needed him to listen. Phyllis said that he needed to find the real killer because Daniel wasn’t it. “Easier said than done,” Chance said. Phyllis told Chance that the real killer was still at large. “Who, Sharon?” Chance mocked, “There is zero evidence supporting that theory.”
Chance said that the case was in the D.A.’s hands, but noted that the evidence against Daniel was solid. He added that Sharon was pointing the finger at someone she had a history with and that wouldn’t be enough to change the D.A.’s mind. Phyllis realized she was going to have to find the evidence herself.
At Society, Daniel thanked Christine for bailing him out of jail. Christine noted that the evidence against Daniel was circumstantial and that she believed he was innocent. She asked Daniel if there was anyone else who could be a suspect and if Heather had any enemies. Daniel said that his mom had a theory, but it was out there. Christine admitted she was looking for anything, even if it originated with Phyllis. Daniel told Christine that Phyllis suspected Sharon.
Christine thought that was a stretch but asked Daniel’s opinion. He said Sharon had been upset and vocal about her feelings but had a hard time thinking she could have murdered Heather. “That’s why I asked her,” Daniel said. Christine was shocked and told him to stay away from Sharon. However, Christine said Phyllis’ accusation might work to their advantage.

Christine explained that if she could show the court other suspects and raise reasonable doubt in the mind of a jury then that might be an option for defense. Christine clarified that she was not defending Daniel just because he was Danny’s son. “There is something about this that doesn’t make sense,” Christine mused.
Diane confidently strode into Victor’s office and told him she knew he would call so they could negotiate privately. Victor asked what her revenge plot against Jack was. Diane told Victor she wanted him to fire Kyle and allow her to take over Glissade as CEO. Diane added that it was a brilliant idea that would upset Jack, especially once he discovered it was her idea. Victor said if he agreed to the plan, there would be no turning back, and he wondered if Diane would see it through to the end. Diane assured Victor she was 100% dedicated.
Victor was dubious and told Diane he would need proof of her sincerity and loyalty. “How you come up with that is your choice. Surprise me,” Victor ordered. Diane smiled and said if Victor wanted proof, he would get it. Nikki walked in and demanded to know what Diane was doing there.
Nikki told Diane it was pathetic how many times she needed to be shut down by Nikki and Victor. “You’re wasting Victor’s time. He is not going to help you exact your revenge,” Nikki snapped. Nikki said Jack and Kyle had suffered enough because of Diane. “Sorry I wasted your time, Victor,” Diane said as she sauntered away. Once alone, Nikki thought they needed to call security, but Victor admitted that he had summoned Diane.
“Please tell me you’re not joining forces with Diane to go after Jack,” Nikki said. Victor claimed he just wanted to see how far Diane would go. “She claims you own Glissade,” Nikki said. Nikki snapped that she would not help Victor further his vendetta with Jack. “You have known me long enough to know no one dictates to me. I’ll handle the damn thing,” Victor growled.
Kyle sat next to Jack at the Athletic Club bar and ordered a drink. Jack told Kyle he was heading to Paris and planned to bring Ashley home. He lamented that he didn’t know what she would be walking into with his family falling apart. Jack was worried it would upend Ashley’s progress. Kyle wondered why he was bringing her home if that was the case.
Jack said that Ashley insisted she wanted to come home. He added that Abby was getting married and that he missed having his sister around. “Maybe I could help with the transition,” Kyle said. Kyle shared he had been rethinking his decision to find another place. “If it’s okay with you,” Kyle added. Jack welled up with tears and asked if Kyle was doing it out of pity, but Kyle said he wasn’t. “It occurred to me that without Mom around, it makes things more tolerable,” Kyle said. “You staying there would mean the world to me,” Jack admitted emotionally.
Diane entered the club and watched as Jack assured Kyle they would get through the turmoil together as a family. “Sooner rather than later, I hope,” Kyle mused. Diane marched over and said it hadn’t been 24 hours since she had been kicked out and fired, and there they were, bonding over a drink. She wondered if they were commiserating about hating her. “If so, glad I could help you reconcile,” she snapped. Jack told Diane that what they were doing was no longer any of her concern. “If it’s awkward running into us like this, you could always leave town,” Jack added. Kyle agreed it was a great idea and suggested his mom return to living as Taylor Jensen in L.A.
Sharon gasped when she saw the headline news on her phone that Daniel had been arrested for murder. Fake Nick asked her why she was upset, as she knew it was coming and made it happen. Sharon freaked out that what she had set in motion had become a reality.
Sharon cried to “Nick” about what Lucy and Daniel must be going through because of her. “Nick” encouraged Sharon to unburden herself of her guilt and come clean with the truth. “Think about how much better you’ll feel,” he said. Sharon admitted the guilt was too much. She was interrupted by a knock on her door. When she opened it, the real Nick asked her what was wrong.
Sharon cried to Nick, saying that Daniel had been arrested. Sharon frantically suggested possible scenarios of Heather accidentally dying while fighting with Daniel. Nick said if that were the case, it would be better to tell the police and not cover it up. He recalled how Daniel went on the run when Cassie died. Sharon felt Daniel wasn’t that person anymore, and if he had had any involvement, he would have turned himself in.
After Sharon calmed down, she told Nick she always felt better when he was around. Nick wondered if Faith knew about Daniel’s arrest, and they thought it could be jarring news about Lucy’s father. Sharon said Daniel’s arrest was devastating, but she understood why Phyllis was so desperate to pin it on her. “She saw the walls closing in on her son, and she was right. Now they have,” Sharon said ominously.
Phyllis approached Christine at Society and said, “This better be good.” Christine explained that they hated one another, but she was defending Daniel the best that she could. She told Phyllis that she knew of her theory about Sharon and thought, with the right spin, it could be beneficial to Daniel’s case. “Oh my God, somebody is finally listening to me — and of all people, it’s you,” Phyllis said, stunned.
Christine clarified that she wasn’t saying Sharon was guilty but needed another suspect to create reasonable doubt to acquit Daniel. “So, for Daniel’s sake, can we just put aside our differences and work together?” Christine asked. Phyllis replied, “I can’t believe I’m saying this. What do you need me to do?”
Nate opened his door to Amy Lewis, who thanked him for seeing her again. They sat down, and she explained that she had unfinished business she hadn’t told him about when he came to see her. Amy explained that she and Nate’s father were seriously involved when she lived in Genoa City. Amy said that Nathan didn’t know it, but after seeing Nathan the last time, she found out she was pregnant with his child. By then, she was in love with someone else named Jackson. Amy admitted that although she wanted to tell Jackson the truth, she let him believe she was carrying his child.
Nathan was shocked to learn he had a half-brother named Damien, whom he never knew about. Amy said she didn’t tell Damien about his paternity, even after Jackson passed. Amy explained that things weren’t great between her and Damien, and he was devastated when Jackson died. Damien was only 16 at the time, and he disappeared while grieving. Amy noted that Damien would usually reach out to let her know he was okay, but she had lost track of him a few years ago.
Amy told Nate that she was dying. She worried that when she was gone, Damien would have no one. She added that since Jackson died, Damien had been lost and rudderless. Amy wanted to find her son before it was too late, as he didn’t know about her leukemia diagnosis. She had been told she only had a few months to a year to live.
Amy admitted that before she contacted Nate, she researched him and knew he was a doctor, just like her late husband. Amy thought that Jackson and Nate shared similarities and thought this could be helpful when relating to Damien. Amy asked Nate to find Damien and get to know him, and she suggested that even though Damien was a little older, Nate could become his mentor.
“You want me to track down a man I never knew existed until a few moments ago and tell him I’m his brother — and then presume to help him figure out his life?” Nate clarified. Amy said she knew it was a lot to ask. She told Nate to think about it and she would stay in town until he decided.
Sharon answered her door and was surprised to find Chance and Christine there. They said they wanted to talk to Sharon about Heather’s murder. Sharon wasn’t sure how she could help as she had already told Chance everything she knew. Chance said that the evidence clearly contradicted Sharon’s statement. He grabbed her and turned her around. As he slapped on handcuffs, he told Sharon that she was under arrest for fabricating evidence and for Heather’s murder.
Daniel and Phyllis walked in and told Sharon that her lies had finally caught up with her and she would pay for her crimes. “No! No! Stop it!” Sharon screamed. She woke up on the couch sobbing and realized it had been a nightmare. She tried to walk upstairs but sunk to the step and cried over and over, “I can’t do this. I can’t live this way.”
