The Young and the Restless put Jack Abbott in the back room at Crimson Lights to do some important Jabot Cosmetics work. While not the ideal locale to do business, it was the perfect place for Peter Bergman, Jack's portrayer, to give viewers a tour de force as Jack ripped into Adam and Chelsea. Soap Central is bestowing Performer of the Week honors on Bergman for his performance!

Bergman's Jack began the episode by recording a statement to Jabot's users that while the company was going through a temporary change (thanks to Victor's hit piece that Adam and Chelsea were forced to publish about Jabot on Newman Media), they planned on being up and running in no time.

Jack's voice sounded confident and assured on the surface, but underneath it was clear that the man was raging over Victor (Eric Braeden) putting him and Jabot in this position in the first place. Jack couldn't even bring himself to even look at Adam (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) when they entered, carrying lots of holiday gift bags and not a care in the world.

Bergman tapped into a range of emotions from Jack to play as he chatised the duo for their complicity with Victor (Eric Braeden), who is doing his best to destroy Jabot Cosmetics.

"Seriously?" Jack marveled at the duo. "You have the gall to wish me 'Merry Christmas' after what you and Victor are trying to do to my family business?"

Being in public or not, Jack was determined to dress down the duplicitous duo for their actions. Adam tried to defuse the situation using that "I'm sorry you're upset" tone to his voice that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) often employs, but that only fueled the rage that Bergman infused into his character.

"Upset does not begin to describe what I am feeling right now," Jack raged. Bergman didn't bring just anger to Jack in these scenes. As Jack and Adam had been pals, the three-time Daytime Emmy-winner also played, understandably, hurt.

You've got to have friends

"I thought we were friends, Adam," Jack shared. When Adam continued to defend his actions, Jack marveled, "Wow. You've been listening to Victor's b.s. long enough you might actually believe that."

Adam and Chelsea hid behind the whole "freedom of the press" issue, but that only made Jack angrier as he knew this wasn't about printing the truth.

"Both of you knew why we did what we had to do," Jack shouted. "My family's company is under attack by the head of your family, and you, Adam, as CEO of Newman Media, are just the top of the spear."

The more Adam tried to diffuse Jack's rage, the more Jack let loose with his true feelings. "This is a stab in the back from a friend, Adam, and I will never forgive you for this," a betrayed Jack angrily stated.

Kudos to Bergman for showing that in addition to the business part of these power storylines on The Young and the Restless, there's always a personal angle to them, as well. Bravo!
