The Young and the Restless Casts A Light on Aristotle Dumas

On The Young and the Restless, we surely have to be close to having Aristotle Dumas's details and identity revealed. Unless, the man is to remain a mystery and play in the shadows only.

The name Aristotle Dumas has been on people’s whispers and conversations for some time now, and the number of people currently suspected of being Dumas has grown. Billy Flynn is added to the list of potential suspects. Billy is under contract to join The Young and the Restless in an undisclosed role. It comes at a time when someone new to the show isn't needed in any other storyline than the Dumas one. I guess one alternative could be that he is somehow involved in the evolving Alan/Martin storyline, but that too seems a stretch.

While it is possible that Billy could be revealed to be Dumas, his age does seem a little young for him to play the part. Many guesses place Dumas to be of similar age and experience to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), although any actual details are very sketchy, to say the least. All Victor has said on the matter is that he and Dumas have a history and often found themselves competing in business over the same company. Victor added that after “making a hit,” Dumas would disappear like smoke and not be able to be drawn out despite Victor's every effort to do so. So not only capable, Dumas is every bit as sneaky as his rival, quite the fitting nemesis.

The facts are that Billy will join The Young and the Restless, maybe to play the part of Dumas’ son or yet another minion like Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers). Damian has even made the leap to being a part of the opening credits, so it could be assumed that by getting that lofty status, he’s to be kept around for a while at least. I believe that Aristotle Dumas is not a real person but rather a moniker used by some very savvy businesspeople who wish to remain anonymous, therefore keeping as many layers between them and the public as possible. I doubt we will ever meet Aristotle Dumas. As quick as a case can be made for who he or even she could be, it’s just as easily dashed. Bily Flynn must be connected to the story but will likely be just another face like Damian.

As a quick catch-up, the list of people fans suspect of being Dumas are Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard), Jill Abbott (Jess Walton), Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John), and now even Billy Flynn. The Young and the Restless is never too quick to reveal things, so this could be a real slow burn. I wouldn't get your hopes up that Dumas will grace our screens anytime soon.
