Actress Denise Boutte (ex-Danielle Calder, Days of our Lives) will temporarily take over for Leigh-Ann Rose in the role of The Young and the Restless' Imani Benedict.
The Young and the Restless has had to make a last-minute casting switch, though this time the brief replacement has nothing to do with injuries, illnesses, or COVID. Leigh-Ann Rose is temporarily vacating the role of Imani Benedict due to a scheduling conflict, with actress Denise Boutte taking over the character beginning Tuesday, September 6.
Daytime fans might recognize Boutte from Days of our Lives, where she played the role of Danielle Calder in 2007 and appeared as a wedding planner in 2005. And it's a good thing the actress already has soap experience, because Y&R's Imani is knee-deep in drama at the moment as part of a triangle with Nate (Sean Dominic) and Elena (Brytni Sapry), which you can read more about here.
Boutte currently stars in BET's The Family Business and in the mini-series Terror Lake Drive. She can also be seen in the upcoming suspense dramas The Missing and Angie's Cure, the latter of which will open in conjunction with the legendary Bronner Bros Hair Show being held in Miami on August 27 through 29.

Some of Boutte's other credits include Young Justice, Bronx SIU, Meet the Browns, and the upcoming Amazon Prime series Kombucha Cure.
At this time, it's unclear when Leigh-Ann Rose will reprise the role of Imani, who she's been playing since 2020. It's also unclear what project has taken her out of Genoa City for the time being, so keep checking back to Soap Central for updates as they come!
