An L.A. Law reboot will see Corbin Bernsen (ex-Father Todd Williams, The Young and the Restless; ex-John Durant, General Hospital) step back into his role as Arnie Becker, the womanizing divorce attorney he played on the original series for eight years.
ABC is working on a blast-from-the-past reboot of L.A. Law, and the new incarnation of the iconic Steven Bochco legal drama will see Corbin Bernsen (ex-Father Todd Williams, The Young and the Restless; ex-John Durant, General Hospital) back in the role of his classic L.A. Law character, Arnie Becker.
Deadline reports that Bernsen has signed on as a lead opposite Blair Underwood (ex-Bobby Blue, One Life to Live), who is reprising his role as Jonathan Rollins. At the moment, the two are believed to be the only original cast members who are series regulars in the sequel pilot -- though others are expected to make guest-starring appearances if and when the pilot is picked up to series.
As for story, the pilot will follow the venerable law firm of McKenzie Brackman -- now named Becker Rollins -- as it reinvents itself as a litigation firm specializing in the most high-profile, boundary-pushing, and incendiary cases.

Bernsen's womanizing character, Arnold, hasn't changed since the 1980s, but the world has. Now in his 60s, he struggles with a rapidly shifting sexual and political landscape.
"I've often thought about revisiting L.A. Law and Arnie Becker over the years," says Bernsen of the role that earned him two Emmy and two Golden Globe nominations. "Now seems the perfect moment in time to explore our fast-changing world through Becker's eyes. Fasten your seatbelts!"
Prior to being cast as L.A. Law's Arnie in 1986, Bernsen had a two-year run as Ken Graham on the soap opera Ryan's Hope. His other soap credits include a 2004 to 2006 run as General Hospital's John Durant, and intermittent appearances as Father Todd Williams on The Young and the Restless, where his late mother, Jeanne Cooper, starred as Katherine Chancellor.
Some of the actor's recent projects include The Resident, Magnum P.I., Tommy, and The Punisher. He'll soon be seen in the upcoming third season of Showtime's City on a Hill and in the new Psych movie, Psych 3: This Is Gus, on Peacock.
