The first event is an in-depth virtual discussion with renowned actress Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman, The Young and the Restless), who will be sharing details about her life and career with CBS Los Angeles journalist Pat Harvey.

The second event is a presentation by Elana Levine -- a professor of media, cinema, and digital studies in the Department of English at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and author of Her Stories: Daytime Soap Opera and US Television History -- that explores the history of the daytime television soap opera as a uniquely gendered cultural form and a central force in the economic and social influence of network television.

The presentation by Levine will take place on Wednesday, September 29, at 7:00PM ET / 4:00PM PT, and it is free with registration, which fans can access here.

Both events are presented by the National Arts Club, which aims to stimulate, foster, and promote public interest in the arts and educate the American people in the fine arts. The events are part of the club's current Television Festival, celebrating women and the moving image.
