Congratulations are in order for Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson, The Young and the Restless) and her husband, Matt Katrosar, who are thrilled to announce the birth of their baby boy, Caden Robert Katrosar.
This past weekend was a beautiful one for The Young and the Restless star Melissa Claire Egan (Chelsea Lawson; ex-Annie Novak, All My Children) and her husband, Matt Katrosar, as the super proud parents welcomed their firstborn baby on Saturday, August 21.
"We are overjoyed to welcome Caden Robert Katrosar into the world," the couple told People. "Everyone is healthy and doing well, we're so grateful for all the love and well wishes along our journey to get here. We're awestruck by this little man and can't believe he's ours."
Funny enough, Egan jokes that her real-life birth was actually a lot easier than the birthing scenes she has played during her decade-long career at Y&R.

"Although this is my first child in real life, I've had very dramatic on-screen births on The Young and the Restless," she says. "Once after falling through a lake, I delivered my son on the show in a cabin. The other time, I went into labor at my wedding and delivered a baby right there in my wedding dress. So, this was a breeze compared to that!"
The entire soap world has been thrilled about Egan's baby news, including her co-stars, who threw her a joyous baby shower in July and have been quick to write congratulatory messages to Egan on her Instagram page.
"I'm so lucky to have a job I love so much, playing a role I love so much, with THESE PEOPLE THAT I LOVE SO MUCH!! Beyond grateful," Egan posted on Instagram after her baby shower. "Thank you @e.c.hendrickson, @gregrikaart, @therealstafford, & @joshuamorrowyr for throwing me my work baby shower. I'm spoiled and I know it!!!"
Egan announced in April that she was expecting a baby boy following a heartbreaking journey to parenthood that included two miscarriages. At the time, the actress shared that she and Katrosar were "overwhelmed and soooo touched by all the love we've gotten since sharing about Baby K on the way."
More recently, the actress shared a huge thank you to her fans that watch Y&R and who have sent their love her way during this time. "It will forever mean the world to me, @katrosar, and this new little man."
