Mishael Morgan opens up about playing Amanda's adoption storyline and thanks fans of The Young and the Restless for their heartfelt comments about her performance.
Many fans of The Young and the Restless probably had a difficult time holding back their tears during the recent scenes in which Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) confronted her birth mother. The powerful moment saw the character finally meeting Naya (Ptosha Story) and finding out why she and her twin sister, Hilary, were not only given up for adoption but also separated at birth. The scenes were incredibly emotional, and some viewers are already predicting that they may lead to Morgan winning a Daytime Emmy Award. Time will tell if that will happen, but the actress is appreciative of the viewer support that she's receiving in this moment.
Morgan took to Twitter to address all of the love that she was showered with following the scenes, first declaring that it was "an honor making art" with Story, whom she calls "a beautiful soul," and then sharing her appreciation for her fans.
"Thank [you] for all the heartfelt comments," she posted. "I really wanted to do this storyline justice for every person who felt this kind of abandonment. It was my honor."

Morgan also revealed that it means the world to her to be in a storyline that has such a profound impact on viewers, such as one who shared that -- much like Naya and Amanda's situation -- his biological father was not kind when they finally met.
"I am so sad to hear that happened to you," the actress wrote in response. "But thank you for this message. This is why I do what I do. Your praise means the world to me."
As fans can imagine, the tense confrontation with Naya and the character's cold-hearted response will take an emotional toll on Amanda. But to find out how the scenes will affect the lawyer in the long term, fans will have to continue tuning in to The Young and the Restless!
