The Young and the Restless' Victoria Rowell (ex-Drucilla Winters) is set to host a home makeover reality series called Trash vs Treasure, which transforms the spaces of deserving families.
In a time when many people in the world could use a little more joy, soap opera alum Victoria Rowell (ex-Drucilla Winters, The Young and the Restless) is bringing a heartwarming show to television. The actress is the host of the upcoming home makeover reality series Trash vs Treasure, which transforms the spaces of deserving families.
Premiering on Thursday, July 16, on the streaming service UMC, the show will follow the 11-time NAACP Image Award-winning performer as she visits homes in the Los Angeles area and in Kingston, Jamaica, helping families in need refresh and beautify their spaces. Each stop will be with a family who has faced hardship in their life, and Rowell's goal will be to use bargain shopping to help transform their preexisting spaces and items and turn them into something new and beautiful.
"I am honored to be able to help these beautiful families with big hearts, who all welcomed me into their homes," Rowell tells People of the series, which she created, produces, and hosts. "Everyone deserves beauty and to live in a home filled with purpose. With a little bit of elbow grease, discovering hidden treasures, creativity, and a whole lot of love, I want to transform lives -- one home at a time."

The trailer for Trash vs Treasure shows Rowell helping three families: a grandmother who suffers from health and mobility issues that lives with her daughter and several grandchildren; a single mother of five who lives with her teenage son in a studio apartment after surviving domestic violence, homelessness, and addiction; and a single mom who lives with her two kids in a house jam-packed with items from her recently deceased mother.
"The goal of Trash vs Treasure is to repurpose preexisting items while complementing it with some TLC," Rowell says in the trailer, which also shows the emotional reactions of the three families when they see their newly transformed spaces. "No matter where you land, you can live in beauty."
Rowell starred on Y&R from 1993 to 1998 and again from 2003 to 2007. Many of her storylines included the late Kristoff St. John, with the pair portraying the love story between beloved power couple Drucilla and Neil Winters. Currently, the actress stars in the soap opera comedy series The Rich and the Ruthless and in a drama focused on the opioid crisis called Jacqueline and Jilly. Both shows are produced by UMC, and were created by Rowell.
Rowell has also recently launched a podcast and she'll be working on a project for BET Her. For more on those ventures, continue reading here.
