CBS will begin airing some of The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful's most classic episodes to help extend the run of the series' new episodes during the coronavirus-related production break.
In the wake of the unprecedented work stoppage brought about by the novel coronavirus outbreak, CBS is taking steps to help ensure that viewers of its two daytime drama series will be able to watch new episodes for as long as possible. Beginning this week, both The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful will begin airing classic episodes to help extend the run of the material the shows have already filmed.
As previously reported by Soap Central, both Y&R and B&B halted production on Tuesday, March 17. At that time, both series had about four to six weeks of already-filmed episodes in the can. By that measure, the two soaps have enough material to air through early May in the regular five-times-per-week format.
