Former The Young and the Restless star Shemar Moore (ex-Malcolm Winters) has a very special message for the soap he used to call home and a challenge for his on-screen brother, Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters).
Shemar Moore rose to fame as The Young and the Restless' Malcolm Winters, and even though he's now a big primetime star with credits like Criminal Minds and S.W.A.T., he hasn't forgotten his soap opera roots. In fact, he recently took to social media to congratulate his Genoa City family for reaching 30 consecutive years as the nation's number one daytime drama.
"To all my The Young and the Restless soap opera fans!!! CONGRATULATIONS to Y&R for 30 CONSECUTIVE YEARS of being the number one soap!" he shared.
But that's not the only thing Moore had to say in the special post. In addition to giving the CBS soap a huge nod for its impressive achievement, Moore gave a direct video shout-out to his former on-screen brother, Kristoff St. John (Neil Winters), whom he thinks needs to update his look.

"Now if I can please, please talk to my big brother... it's your baby brother, Malcolm Winters," says Moore, who reminds St. John that Malcolm, not Neil, is the biological father of Dru's (Victoria Rowell) daughter, Lily (Christel Khalil). "Now bro, it's 2019. This 1970 afro thing you are rocking to this day, you got to stop, man! It worked for you when you were two years old in the [mini-series] Roots. That was a hundred years ago! It is 2019, [so] please take your ass to Supercuts now!"
Will St. John respond to his former co-star's challenge? And if so, will he go so far as to give his head a clean shave like Moore? It looks like fans will have to keep watching Y&R to find out.
