Marla Adams on her "very emotional, very draining" Y&R storyline

The Young and the Restless' Marla Adams (Dina Mergeron) opens up about the incredibly tense storyline that has her back in Genoa City and previews the exciting drama playing out this week.

The Young and the Restless' Marla Adams is nearly 80 years old, but that hasn't stopped the powers that be at the CBS soap opera from putting the talented performer through the wringer during her return as man-eating millionaire Dina Mergeron. In fact, this week, viewers will see Dina collapsing in her hotel room and being left for dead by hunky scam artist Graham (Max Shippee) -- and later having to forgive him because, as she says, "He knows her secret. Only in the suds, honey!"

But it's not just Dina's secret that keeps her attached to Graham, who has power of attorney over her estate now that she's dealing with the early stages of dementia.

"I do think he loves Dina...in his own way," she points out to TV Insider, adding that all hell breaks loose after he leaves her for dead in a hotel room. "It's Ashley [Eileen Davidson] who finds Dina on the floor. And, oh boy, are there going to be fireworks between her and Jack [Peter Bergman] and Graham! Jack gets a lawyer to ban Graham from ever coming back to Genoa City. [Laughs] Good luck with that! But it's Dina who's done a bad thing. After keeping quiet about [the identity of] Ashley's real father for years -- for decades -- she blurts out the truth in a moment of absolute rage!"

But the gifts keep on coming, even after this week's exciting explosion. Adams teases that a lot is going to happen between now and Halloween.

"The frost is on the pumpkin!" she previews. "They're addressing my story full tilt and it really gets juicy. It's very emotional, very draining. In fact, I just got off work before I sat down for this [interview], and when I get done... I am going to have myself a little vodka martini! [Laughs] And I have earned it!"
