Y&R's Abhi Sinha lands role in Kiefer Sutherland political series Designated Survivor

The Young and the Restless' Abhi Sinha (Ravi Shapur) will be appearing on Kiefer Sutherland's primetime political drama Designated Survivor.

Abhi Sinha has spent the better part of 2017 entertaining The Young and the Restless viewers as his lovable character Ravi Shapur, and it looks like he'll have the chance to finish the year off by winning over primetime viewers, as well.

The actor took to Instagram to share the news that he'll be appearing on Designated Survivor, a political drama starring Kiefer Sutherland.

"See you soon," he wrote along with a photo of a script and a tag to Designated Survivor star Italia Ricci.

The ABC series, which premieres its season two tonight, follows the aftermath of an explosion that claims the life of the president and everyone in line for succession except Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Thomas Kirkman (Sutherland), who had been named the designated survivor. Kirkman is sworn in as president, unaware that the explosion was just the first hint of the terror to come.

At this time, it's unclear if Sinha has joined the cast of Designated Survivor or if he'll be making a guest appearance. Either way, it won't be the actor's first rodeo with primetime. Prior to joining Y&R earlier this year, he appeared in television shows like Rosewood, NCIS: Los Angeles, Scorpion, and Chasing Life.
