Y&R's Daniel Goddard sidelined by bacterial infection

The Young and the Restless' Daniel Goddard (Cane Ashby) had to take some unexpected sick days from the CBS soap.

Fans who have been wondering why The Young and the Restless fave Daniel Goddard (Cane Ashby) hasn't been as active on social media in recent weeks finally have an answer as to why he's been MIA. It turns out, the actor was really sick.

Goddard took to Twitter to share that an unexpected illness knocked him off his game -- and right out of the shoes of his Genoa City alter ego. But luckily, he has since recovered.

"After being bed ridden with a bacterial infection for the last 2 weeks... it's good to be back," he posted along with a photo of himself back to work at the CBS studios.

It's unclear at this time whether or not Goddard's short leave of absence will be noticed on-screen. It looks like you'll have to keep watching Y&R to find out, just as soon as you leave the actor a fun post-recovery message below!

This is just one of a recent string of unlucky breaks for the popular actor. Just last year, Goddard battled a nasty bout of bronchitis. The year before, Goddard broke his elbow while filming a scene at The Young and the Restless -- and underwent emergency surgery when he had a reaction to the metal used to repair the break.
