General Hospital's Jason Thompson (ex-Patrick Drake) has traded in Port Charles for The Young and the Restless' Genoa City, and the CBS soap just released a promo featuring the star in his new role as Billy Abbott.
It has been a whirlwind of a week in daytime. General Hospital confirmed rumors that Steve Burton (ex-Dylan McAvoy) would be returning to the ABC soap.Several weeks ago, Sony, the production company of It's been an exciting weekend for The Young and the Restless fans, who finally got the chance to see former General Hospital star Jason Thompson (ex-Patrick Drake) in the role of Billy Abbott (formerly played by Burgess Jenkins).
CBS Daytime featured the Canadian in his new role in its latest promo video, which teases Thompson's Wednesday, January 13 debut.
As viewers of the show already know, Billy has been fighting for his life after first being beaten by his gambling bookie's henchman and then being run over by Noah Newman (Robert Adamson), a twist that was played out by former portrayer Jenkins.

Burgess Jenkins announced in November that he'd be exiting Y&R because he wanted to be closer to his family.
