The Young and the Restless' Beth Maitland (Traci Abbott) is about to whip everyone in Genoa City into shape.
Fan favorite Beth Maitland is on her way back to The Young and the Restless, and it looks like her popular alter ego, Traci Abbott, means business.
"Traci has her bucket, her mop and her disinfectant and she's ready to clean up the mess created by her rich, entitled, ridiculously emotional siblings who overreact to everything," the actress told TV Insider of her return, which will take place on Thursday, November 17. "These people need to sort things out and love each other, and Traci is the person to make it happen."
The mess she's referring to is the one where one Abbott brother was caught sleeping with the other Abbott brother's wife -- a storyline twist that it seems only someone like Traci can fix. And speaking of fixing things, fans of the actress will be happy to hear that Maitland's recent absence from Genoa City may soon be a thing of the past. TV Insider also reports that Traci is prominently featured in the December 7 episode, which is the first from new head writer Sally Sussman.

"We go through periods where it's all about explosions and times where all they want are young people in bathing suits," says Maitland. "I'm just so grateful that every once in a while the soaps swing back to legacy characters and family and relationships. The term 'moral compass' is overused completely, but a show needs that grandma or that aunt who represents goodness and hope and heart."
