The Young and the Restless stars weigh in on the upcoming exit of Steve Burton (Dylan McAvoy), and it seems they're just as shocked as fans.
Viewers who are saddened by the news that Steve Burton (Dylan McAvoy) will soon be leaving The Young and the Restless aren't alone. Many of the actor's costars aren't so happy about the news, either.
Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) took to Twitter and incredulously asked Burton, "My man, I hear you r leaving us? Why in hell would you do that?"
He then added, "U R a GREAT asset to our show, the nicest colleague, so STAY!"

Doug Davidson (Paul Williams) also expressed disbelief over Burton's exit news, writing, "Say, it ain't so! Love you and wish you all good things. My door is always open."
However, not all of Burton's costars and Y&R family members reacted with such outright surprise. Many expressed their public goodbyes with the kindness typically shown when actors choose to leave a show.
Wrote Greg Rikaart (Kevin Fisher): "Thanks for ALWAYS bringing your A game, professionalism kindness and charm, SB. You're a class act and a terrific actor."
The show's new executive producer, Mal Young, wrote, "As they say from my neck of the woods -- a gentleman & a scholar. Always a pleasure, never a chore. Top bloke."
And Executive Vice President, Daytime Programs and Syndicated Program Development, CBS Entertainment and CBS Television Distribution, Angelica McDaniel, tweeted, "I am grateful for @1SteveBurton's time with #YR as Dylan and wish him the very best on his next adventure."
During his four years at Y&R, Burton received Daytime Emmy nominations in the Outstanding Supporting Actor category in both 2014 and 2016. At this time, it's unclear if the CBS soap plans to recast the role or if Burton's exit spells the permanent end of Dylan.
